Preview – The Blow at the Biltmore in Vancouver this Saturday night (Feb 5, 2011).
The Blow, aka Khaela Maricich, performs Saturday in Vancouver.
According to the Oregon Music Blog, “Khaela Maricich blurs the line between concert and monologue. From irresistible, lo-fi, laptop dance-pop to laugh out loud or awkward encounters, she is a true performing artist; one who can control the stage with no more than a mic and a MacBook.”
For her current tour, Maricich is working with partner/installation and conceptual artist Melissa Dyne. Dyne will be “working with lighting and sound to manipulate the environment and to kind of play with the possibilities of whatever space we are performing in,” Maricich told the blog’s Chris Young.
The Blow resides in New York, but comes from “NW origins,” according to the blog. She keeps a low online profile so fans have to catch a show to see/hear the new material.
