Underground Hardcore Collective presents Riffs Not Riots
– by Shadi Maceac
Various members from Vancouver’s metal music scene will host a metal charity fundraiser on July 13 at Fortune Sound Club.
According to the press release, “the show is to honour the heroic citizens of Vancouver that stood up against the hockey riots that took place on June 15 when the Vancouver Canucks lost Game 7 to the Boston Bruins during the Stanley Cup Finals. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Canucks for Kids Funds, a charity run by the Vancouver Canucks NHL Team.”
The lineup includes Vancouver’s own Titans Eve, who will perform the final show of their two-month Divine Equal tour. Casey Orr, drummer from Titans Eve, released the following statement about the charity event: “Titans Eve is honored to share the stage with all the other great bands playing this event. We stand united with them, the organizers and everyone else who opposes mindless, opportunistic violence. As well as to show to those outside of Vancouver, that the vast majority of us have pride in our city and only want good things for it.”
The Riffs Not Riots lineup includes Titans Eve, Black Wizard, Ancients, Galgamex, Weirding, Abriosis, Anion and Depressing.
