Youthink Magazine announces Best Teen Band Contest finalists

Youthink Magazine announced this week the finalists in its third annual B.C.’s Best Teen Band Contest.
Vancouver indie-folk artist Kate Kurdyak, Langley’s Derrival and Surrey-based Shadows will compete live in front of a panel of industry judges at Electric Owl on April 28 for the title of Best B.C. Teen Band.
The top three bands were determined by over 1,800 online fans who cast over 18,000 votes from Jan 16 to Feb 20. Youthink launched the contest to give young bands from across the province a chance to network with key players in the music industry, showcase their music, and learn about the music industry.
The winner of the contest will receive $2,000 for artist development, a recording session with Jay Evjen of Juicemix Productions at Greenhouse Studios, a songwriting session with Shaun Verreault of Wide Mouth Mason, $500 worth of gift certificates from Long & McQuade, the May/June cover of Youthink magazine and other prizes.
