The first major Polaris event outside of Toronto
The Polaris Music Prize has announced its key dates for 2012. The first, the announcement of the 40-strong Long List, takes place June 14 at a special ceremony at The Waldorf Hotel in Vancouver. According to the press release, “This marks the first time that Polaris will hold a major event outside of their Toronto headquarters.”
Other key dates include the Short List announcement July 17 at the Drake Hotel in Toronto and the Gala Sept 24 at CTV’s Concert Hall Studios at Toronto’s Masonic Temple. MuchMusic and CBC Radio 3 will broadast the gala, which will announce the winner of the 2012 Polaris Music Prize of $30,000 for the Canadian Album of the Year.
