Day 1 of the annual Live at Squamish music festival was heavy on local talent, including:
No Sinner.This blues-rock combo features vocalist Colleen Rennison, drummer Ian Browne, guitarist Eric Campbell and bassist Matt Camirand (Black Mountain). The band released “Boo Hoo Hoo”, its first single/video, late last year.
Good for Grapes. A Surrey-based folk-rock band influenced by neo-folk acts like Mumford & Sons, the group includes vocalist Daniel McBurnie, Alexa Unwin (piano, vocals), Robert Hardie (bass, vocals), Sean MacKeigan (accordion), and Jesse Brook (trombone, trumpet, flute).

The Matinee. This five-year-old Vancouver band features vocalist Matt Layzell, guitarists Geoff Petrie and Matthew Rose, drummer Peter Lemon, bassist Mike Young, and keyboardist Dave Young. In 2011 the band came in third in the Peak Performance Project.
Rich Hope. Hope is Vancouver’s preeminent country-rocker. His drummer Adrian Mack once wrote about Bat Pussy, regarded by some as the worst porn movie ever made, for The Snipe.
