PEAK Performance 2012 finalists announced
The Peak Performance 2012 finalists were announced on Thursday, Nov 1.
The fourth and fifth place winners were named, but the top three were announced in alphabetical order. On Nov 22, the Commodore Ballroom will host the PEAK Performance Project Finale, where the finalists perform and have their rankings announced. Over $270,000 is up for grabs, with $102,700 going to first, $75,000 Â to second and $50,000 to third. Tickets always sell out fast for this performance, so get yours soon from Ticketmaster. They are $10.70 plus the service charges.
The top three finalist are: Dear Rouge, Dominique Fricot and Jordan Klassen. The fourth place finalist is J.P Maurice and in fifth place is Mike Edel. They won $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.
The Peak Performance Project has ten new artist recordings available for free download.
The top twenty artists were paired together to write the ten songs at Rockridge Canyon inPrinceton, BC at a musical boot camp. Participants were asked to write using the theme of “love and bravery”. Warne Livesey, Jeff Dawson, Shawn Cole, Winston Hauschild and Alex “Condor” Aligizakis mixed, recorded and produced. The Nibus School of Recording arts team built four temporary studios for the production of the songs.
The PEAK and Music BC have seen over $3 million dollars invested in the BC music community. The acclaimed program is in its fourth year, and over seventy artists have benefited from the education, exposure, networking and development that it offers.
