Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino got the burlesque treatment in Vancouver on Friday night. A live band accompanied some of the city’s star burlesque attractions in routines inspired by Tarantino’s movies and the director’s celebrated soundtracks.
Producer Blue Morris, who also plays in the band, worked with choreographer Voodoo Pixie on the show as well as  with Fairlith Harvey. Harvey hosted the evening and is the brains behind the Star Wars burlesque romp A Nude Hope. The nine acts in Tarantino Burlesque were inspired by Tarantino movies ranging from Pulp Fiction to his half of the Grindhouse double-bill, Death Proof.
All the acts were accompanied by the Blue Morris Band, featuring vocalist Red Heartbreaker. Performers include Little Miss Risk, Sparkle Plenty, Mama Fortuna and Ariel Helvetica.
