Ani Difranco at the Chan Centre, Sunday night.

The Buffalo-born folk singer is no stranger to these parts, having often played Vancouver, including the 2012 Vancouver Folk Festival.

Her most recent album is 2012’s Which Side Are You On?, the latest in a long line of records that includes the career-spanning Canon (2007). Besides her recordings and live performances, Difranco is known as an outspoken activist. You can find out more about the singer/songwriter/activist at righteousbabe.com.

In November of last year, Difranco received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Winnipeg.
