With its sex, violence and anything-goes philosophy, HBO’s fantasy TV series Game of Thrones is ripe for a burlesque treatment. And Oakland’s award-winning troupe Tourettes Without Regrets‘ Game of Thrones Burlesque: Live, Dirty and Dangerous does not disappoint.
With a show that includes fire-dancing, circumcision, infanticide, an Iron Throne and, scariest of all – someone dressed up as Game of Thrones creator/writer George R.R. Martin -Â Game of Thrones Burlesque pulls out all the stops.
The show passed through Vancouver last week for two nights at the Rio Theatre (March 28 & 29). Members of local burlesque troupe Sweet Soul Burlesque, including Tristan Risk, also participated.
We managed to cull a few photos from hundreds taken by Vancouver photog Patrick Rooney. Check them out, and see Tourettes Without Regrets next time they pass through town.
