Bands with Cats – Bad Channels’ Wade and Margot

– by Cheena Jean Normandin

Your name: Wade

Your band(s) and instrument(s):

I play guitar in Bad Channels, Stress Eating and Harsh Words.

What’s your cat’s name? Margot

Wade and Margot 1

What’s your cat’s origin story?

I was telling my mom that I was looking to adopt a kitty and she asked if I wanted to take a new cat she had just taken in from a friend who was moving away. She told me her name was Lola and she didn’t get along with the other cats in the house. Margot does not like other kitties. I took her in and decided she was more of a Margot, a la Margot Tenenbaum, than a Lola.

What’s its breed? Mostly Himalayan, I think.

Who feeds your cat? Usually me but sometimes my girlfriend.

What’s your cat’s theme song?

Beat Happening, “Cat Walk”

What dead rad dude would your cat prefer to sit in the lap of while watching a fish tank: James Dean or John Belushi?

James Dean, because she’s all about looks and doesn’t get jokes.

Wade and Margot 6

What does it listen to when you’re not around?

She listens to the Lemonheads because she thinks Evan Dando is a hunk.

What is the last book your cat fell asleep on?

She’s more of a magazine reader.

Wade and Margot 3

If your cat sees a VERY LARGE SPIDER – what’s it’s course of action?

She wouldn’t see it! We’ve tried to get her to notice bugs before but she is either too blind or just doesn’t care at all.

What does your cat get up to on Sunday mornings when half of your peer group is hungover?

Margot is really good about not waking me up early on weekends. She will wait until you’re awake before jumping into bed looking for attention.

About Cheena Jean Normandin

Cheena Jean is a human B-side. She lives in East Vancouver and believes ferociously that the Internet requires more cats on it. She loves her local music scene a whole bunch and probably also really wants to be your friend.
