Preview – Fuck Art at 303 Columbia St., July 4 2015
– by Abby Normal
FUCK ART is an upcoming art show in which the theme is porn - and/or a porn show where the theme is art.
You can expect to see all sorts of smut-loving people sharing their dirtiest projects and ideas, including zines, prints, performances, paintings, videos, sculptures, free lube and live sex. Guests include amazing local artists and performers, including but not limited to Robin Bougie from Cinema Sewer, Megan Megdalena, Pussy Juice, and Wham Bam Babes, as well as MarkusEdge giving us a glimpse into The Metaverse, which may very well be the future of pornography.
We sat down with MarkusEdge to get more information into the metaverse, which may or may not be the future of pornography.
Abby Normal: Can you explain in layman’s terms what the Metaverse is?
MarkusEdge: The Metaverse is the sum of all the virtual reality being made today. Virtual Reality is a computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person using special electronic equipment, such as a head mounted display with dual screens inside.
AN: Okay, so how does it actually work?
ME: We built a special video camera that captures 180-degree virtual reality video to scale, that can be viewed by many of the emerging VR technologies coming out on the market. The combination of all this tech results in the user feeling like they are “there,” which is called presence.
AN: I guess the next question would be, how did you end up here making content?
ME: We realized in late 2014 that we had developed 1 of only 2 VR Cameras in the world and so we decided to seize this opportunity for Vancouver.
AN:Â How it all going for you, so far?
ME: We have been working hard for months now and have a created collection of over 50, 12+ minute clips for sale on our store.
AN: Is there any specific content that you are working on acquiring that you see as the ‘porn of the future’?
ME: We are seeing a trend for more queer and including bisexual male porn across the board as these areas are very underrepresented. We are also looking at partnering with haptic feedback companies to offer our clients physical touch to compliment the VR experience.
AN: How can we experience it?
ME: The only way to experience is to purchase an Oculus developer device presently or to wait till this holiday season when VR comes out for consumers.
AN:How can people get in touch with you to be involved, etc?
ME: Email us at info@metaverseXXX.com
