New video – Black Mountain’s Mothers of the Sun
Black Mountain officially released their video for “Mothers of the Sun” today. The debut single off their forthcoming album, IV (out April 1 on Jagjaguwar), the song comes to us in the form of a bizarre, eight-minute-plus video featuring a four-armed Stephen McBean, a ceremonial dagger, prisoners bound in chains, and other psyche-rock tropes. Certainly, with the new album, the decade-old Vancouver band seems determined to not tone things down.
According to the media release, “The song itself is one that lingered in the practice space for years before finding its way onto a Black Mountain album, or as McBean puts it, ‘Sometimes a riff hangs out in the basement for 10 years before it’s finally ready to hit the streets.'”

Black Mountain is Amber Webber, Brad Truax, Jeremy Schmidt and Joshua Wells. Their previous album was 2010’s Wilderness Heart.
