Burns recorded Young Mopes with guitarist Darcy Hancock and drummer Ryan Peters, both formerly of Vancouver band Ladyhawk. Colin Stewart (Dan Mangan, Black Mountain) and Damian Taylor (Bjork, Braids, Trust) co-produced the record with her. Songs include “Who’s the Madman” and “Storms“.
Burns co-founded pop band Lillix at the age of 11. By the time she was 15, Burns (along with Lillix) was signed to Madonna‘s Maverick Records label.
Her other projects include Gold & Youth. She is also a freelance contributor and host on CBC’s Radio 3, and a journalist whose writing appears on CBC Music, the Talkhouse and Westender.
