The offspring of Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith, the singer/rapper is also an actor. (His first movie role was with his father in the 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness).

He has released one album, Syre (2017). The follow-up, Erys, is expected later this year.

Syre received mixed reviews. HipHopDX praised the album’s creativity, production, and commended Smith’s stylistic progressions and improvement from his past releases. Pitchfork‘s Kevin Lozano criticized the rapping and lyrics, writing, “Full of chaotic beats and cringe-worthy lyrics, the debut studio album from Jaden Smith is a sophistic, paranoid fantasy that mixes new-age thinking with apocalyptic rhetoric.”
