Bands with cats – Pink Licorice’s Bella and Lotus Blossom
– by Cheena Jean Normandin
Your bands and role/instrument: I am the other half (along with Connor Mack) of Pink Licorice and play synthesizers, and sing. I also play guitar and synthesizers in Jo Passed.
What’s is your cat/s name? Lotus Blossom
What’s your cat/s origin story?
We got Lotus when I was nine, from a trailer park in the Fraser Valley. Lotus lives with my mum in the suburbs of Vancouver. I visit her often enough.
Who feeds your cat/What does it usually eat? My mum feeds her. She usually eats Fancy Feast with Temptations on the side. Quite frou-frou.
What do you think your cat/s theme song is? Queen, “Killer Queen”.
What is the most impressive thing that your cat/s has murdered? A lover, not a fighter, she mostly kills bugs.
If your cat/s see/s a GIANT spider. What is the course of action? Tries to eat it!
Where is the last inconvenient place that your cat/s has/have fallen asleep? Bathtub.
If your cat/s threw a raging party, what are the staples on the playlist? “Love is the Drug” by Roxy Music, “Calling All Boys” by The Flirts, “G- Spot” by Vanity 6.
If you wake up in a Freaky Friday situation with your feline- what’s the first course of action on it’s behalf? On yours?
She would probably drink coffee and play piano. I would probably bathe myself.
Pink Licorice plays an album release party tonight (April 8), along with Pine Tarts, Black Magique, and Pale Red, for their eight-song release Punishments at the Biltmore Cabaret.
