Hippo Campus at the Cobalt.
The Minneapolis indie-pop band releaesd their debut full-length album landmark via Grand Jury Music (US) and Transgressive Records (UK) in the fall of last year. The album includes the single “Boyish.”
BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Sylvan Esso, etc.) recorded landmark. The album follows 2015’s Bashful Creatures and South EPs. Themes include aimlessness, young love, and friendship, along with tongue-in-cheek send ups of a culture obsessed with going viral.
Band members include Jake Luppen (vocals/guitar), Nathan Stocker (guitar/vocals), Zach Sutton (bass), and Whistler Allen (drums/vocals). The four attended the& St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists in Minnesota.
