– review by Sonia Stastny
Place: Re-Entry Espresso
Location: 4363 Main Street and 28th Avenue
Ambiance: Half-hearted attempt at futuristic (non)-décor: abundance of metal results in cold, sterile lines. Abrasive rock music (The Decemberists, Cat Power) not conducive to conversation or work (though wireless internet is available). All right, so I was rather underwhelmed by this otherwise highly recommended coffee shop. I do give thumbs-up for the funky art on the walls.
Coffee: Roasted by the famous Moja coffee roasters located in North Vancouver. My cappuccino was less than impressive however: no latte art, wrong milk-foam ratio, not enough character to the espresso itself…Â Maybe the barista was having a bad day? My disappointment was compounded by the fact that there were no pastries left for the day (it was only 2:30 p.m.!), and no sandwiches either.
Price: Mid-level. Cappuccino is $3.25.
Bottom Line: Nothing to write home about. Perhaps a great neighbourhood café but I would not travel across town to visit.
Wireless: Yes.
